Pilates Lessons In East & West Sussex UK

Pilates can be for everyone! Our classes contain people of all ages and are presented in a relaxed no pressure way. Everyone is built differently, and often people have something that needs special consideration. This may be a back issue, knee problem, hip problem or one of the many issues that can effect us all in our lifetimes. Classes are programmed to take these problems into account and special exercises would be recommended where appropriate. Classes are unisex and contain both women and men. Classes are held regularly on the following days in East Grinstead and Forest Row.

East Grinstead - Monday 09:30 - 10:30 and again at 18:00-19:00 Amazon Studio, Jubilee Community Centre, Charlwoods Road, East Grinstead, West Sussex.

Forest Row - Forest Row Community Centre, Hartfield Road, Forest Row, RH18 5DZ

Drop-In Rate £8 per class OR reduction for 9-class term x £7.50 payable upfront by BACS



Pilates in two sentences!

Pilates sets out to strengthen the body in an even way, with a strong emphasis on core strength, well being and general fitness. Many professional dancers, athletes and sports people take pilates classes as part of their training program.

Your Pilates Teacher

Fiona Payne

Your Pilates Teacher Fioana Payne - Fiona Payne has been teaching in the Health Related Fitness sector since 1988 initially teaching Ski Fitness/Exercise to Music/Aerobics/Step/Slide/Aqua/Post & Ante Natal and Chlidren’s Fitness. She has taught at Adult Education in Surrey,Sussex and Kent, local sports clubs, The Open University and various Corporate Organisations as well as presenting Masterclasses abroad. Private clients within the Film and Music Industry, Motor Racing and Equestrian arenas over the years have encouraged a wide range of individual study. Whilst working in schools Fiona also introduced The International Aerobics Federation Sports Awards enabling many students to complete the Duke of Edinburgh physical sport element. In 1996 a return to Pilates, having experienced classes with world-renowned Pilates expert Alan Herdman (responsible for bringing Pilates to the UK in the 1970s) and classes with Trevor Blount in Kensington she attended training with Stott Pilates, Australian Physiotherapy and Pilates Institute (APPI) Pilates Advanced Training and Research Academy (PATARA), Body Control Pilates and modules in Alexande Technique and Feldenkrais. From this wider training Fiona feels that she can draw elements to compile varied classes to provide all students with safe and effective exercises whilst remaining true to the classical Pilates repertoire. Many class members have been attending weekly classes for over 20 years.
